I worked with Maz and she taught me how to used Photoshop. We both put our ideas forward and participated in the task.

2. How did you plan your cover and contents page? What magazines did you use for your inspiration?

We drew out a plan for our front cover and contents page and we used Cosmopolitan for our inspiration.

3. What technology did you use to complete the task, and how did you use it?

We used a digital camera to take pictures using a clear background. The we used Photoshop Elements 8.0 to make the magazine.

We had to take into account when we were going to get our pictures and how to manage our time whilst editing.

We've used 3 colours in our magazine so that it looks effective.

6. Which does it break?

None.

Our target audience is students from Lutterworth College. We use neutral colours such as greens and blues which attract both a male and female audience.

8. Does the magazine appeal to new or regular readers – how do you know?

Our magazine appeals to both new and regular readers. It attracts new readers because of the variety of colour and cheap price. But it also attracts regular readers because of the variety of new headlines which stand out.

9. How successful was your magazine cover? Identify what worked well, and with hindsight, what would you improve/do differently?

I think our magazine cover was very suzzessful and the colour schemes worked well, to improve I'd change the layout and use more fonts to make it look more interesting.

10. What have you learnt about producing a magazine front cover and contents page? Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing the rest of your foundation coursework?

I have learnt how to use Photoshop and what to include on a front cover of a magazine and a contents page. I enjoyed learning how to use it and I'm thinking of doing a magazine cover for my foundation coursework.

  1. A sound evaluation Cat, although a little brief in parts - you could have expanded your analysis on the conventions of a front cover.
